Gypsy Man, produced by Michael Cuscuna, has a who's-who lineup of players who would be synonymous with the newly emerging subgenre of jazz: drummer Billy Cobham (still a member of the Mahavishnu Orchestra at the time), percussionist Ralph MacDonald, session drummer Rick Marotta, guitarists Keith Loving and David Spinozza, pianist Larry Willis.
Michael Nesmith - Infinite Rider On The Big DogmaMichael Nesmith was of course a member of the Monkees and a prolific composer, singer and songwriter. Nesmit wrestled between Country and Pop genres throughout his career and 'Infinite Rider' is a fine example of his complete skills. As the 70's drew to an end Nesmith released this little gem of an album which showcases some great funk, lite-country, rock and pop moods with solid singing and strong musicianship throughout.
Songs like 'Carioca' and 'Magic' are just fantatsic pop songs that need to heard by everyone. This was Nesmith's 9th studio album released and IMHO a very mature release with a nice varied approach and sensitivity throughout the album.
